    What is Neurofeedback?

Discover the science behind NeurOptimal® and how it naturally trains your brain for better performance and wellbeing.

    The Science of Self-Regulation

Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that uses real-time monitoring of brainwave activity to teach the brain how to self-regulate. Unlike traditional therapies that rely on conscious effort or medication, neurofeedback works directly with your central nervous system.

At Neurofeedback Brain Training, we use the NeurOptimal® system, a well-established neurofeedback system used internationally by individuals, families and professionals. It is completely non-invasive, meaning it doesn't push or force the brain into any specific state. Instead, it acts like a mirror.

    How NeurOptimal® Works

During a session, you sit comfortably in a chair while listening to relaxing music. Tiny sensors are placed on your scalp and ears to read the electrical activity of your brain—much like a stethoscope listens to your heart.

When the system detects a change in brain activity, it creates a micro-pause in the music. This brief interruption alerts your brain to what it is doing in that exact moment. This information gives the brain an opportunity to notice what it is doing and make its own adjustments.

    Why Choose NeurOptimal®?

    • Non-Invasive: No electrical currents are sent into the brain. It only reads your brain's natural activity.
    • Effortless: You don't have to "try" to do anything. You can read, sleep, or simply relax during the session.
    • Safe for All Ages: From young children to the elderly, the system adapts to each individual's unique brain.
    • Holistic Benefits: Because it supports the brain's ability to self-regulate, people's experiences vary, but many report positive changes in areas such as sleep, focus and day-to-day functioning.

    The Results

Over time, many people find that the changes they notice become more familiar and easier to maintain. Just like going to the gym strengthens your muscles, neurofeedback provides regular opportunities for the brain to practise self-regulation. Many people report feeling calmer, more focused and better able to cope with everyday demands.
